The "Digital Snowflake" project was based on the "Winter Olympics Multi-dimensional Immersion Platform" jointly created by the Chinese Olympic Committee's Olympic Games Preparation Office and the Tsinghua Delta Research Institute, as well as the "5G+4K/8K+AI" strategic layout of the China Media Group, and was ultimately released on the CCTV Video platform. The project aimed to use technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain to help everyone create their own unique snowflake, generating a one-of-a-kind digital identity.
On February 4, 2022, "digital snowflakes" representing hundreds of millions of viewers floated into the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Viewers could claim their own "Digital Snowflake" identity in the CCTV Video mini-program, watch the live broadcast of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics opening ceremony on the "Digital Snowflake" interactive page, and after the broadcast, click the "Float into my Winter Olympics opening ceremony" button to cherish this special video of their "participation" in the Winter Olympics.
In December 2021, through technological means, the Tsinghua Delta Research Institute's Multi-universe Immersion Center had already made it possible for everyone to have their own digital snowflake. However, how to personify the snowflakes and give each one a unique personality and soul remained a challenge for the team and an urgent problem to be solved.
In this project, I participated in the design of the personalized features for the "Digital Snowflake." Based on the existing interaction logic, snowflake morphology structure logic, and snowflake style generation logic, I designed the logic and form of the snowflake components corresponding to different genders, ages, and hobbies.
